English UnPointZero Slider Support
UnPointZero slider is a plugin for displaying a block of presentation as a slideshow to your posts or your pages. In its default form the slider have the following form:
 Thumbnails ON |
 thumbnail OFF |
 Navigation by pages |
Insert the slider on your templates
Two methods to include the slider :
On your template pages add this :
<?php do_shortcode('[ upzslider]'); ?>
On your wordpress pages or posts :
[ upzslider]
If you want to display multiple sliders on your website replace :
[ upzslider]
by
[ upzslider interid='category/page/taxonomy ids OR names' intertype='post OR page OR custom post type name' taxoname='custom taxonomy name']
For example if you want to display posts from category 3,5 and 20:
[ upzslider interid='3,5,20' intertype='post']
Warning : Delete the space just before upzslider.
How to config/use the slider
After classic WP plugin installation :
- Go on your WP administration => Settings => UnPointZero Slider
- Setup the slider (hope descriptions are clear enough, if you need help just ask us by using our contact form)
- On your page or posts (depend your setup) a new box appears :
- Just click on the « set featured image » link, take an image from your computer (this is important for thumb sizes) and click on « set has featured image » at the bottom of the upload page. Important note: if you use an image uploaded BEFORE the slider installation, you’ve to re-upload it or use the excelent regenerate thumbnails plugin.
- Don’t forget you can customize everything with CSS styles. Modify styles on your template is the safer way.
- If you need more help, just write a comment on this page (faster way) or use our contact form.
Please
Before sending us a bug report about thumbnails sizes PLEASE try to regenerate your thumbnails with the regenerate thumbnails plugin.

I just have installed your plugin Un Point Zero Slider as you recommend at your website. I uploaded at first the big picture (not the thumbnail) by clicking at the featured article box on the right side of the wp-administration and inserted the picture like shown on your website. The code in the brackets [] I put in the post field. All I got is a white rectangle without an image.
Where could be the problem?

Hello! I’v got a question regarding the character count limit. I’m currently working on this site (it’s still in dev) http://www.rolstoelbasketbal.nl/begin
The character limiter is working properly but, as you can see the limit for the buttons must be smaller than for the actual info panel. It’s now set to a limit of 40 (on the title). I want the info panel to show about 60 characters. Is there something I can do to change these settings?

The slider hides the drop down menu. Fixing the CSS on menu and/or slider does not help. It seems to be something in the jquery…the problem only happens when the slider is in motion. (That is, it’s not a problem if there is only one image in the slider and it is not sliding.) Can you help? Thanks.

@Gina B: It’s a CSS problem. On your menu container, just add « position:relative;z-index:1000; » to the CSS rules. I think this should work (I’ve the same problem on http://www.almec.fr few weeks ago…).

We are using the slider and it works great but I was wondering
since we want to show more than 4 featured articles if there is a way to scroll down on the right side, I’m using it without the thumbnails
but showing the text. If there is a way to show like little arrows to scrolldown vertically

I downloaded your plugin and it’s looks like just what I was looking for. Thanks for all your work on it. I found one problem. I have a small issue though, when I attempt to implement the multiple slider embed code with interis and intertype, it doesn’t function and brings up a syntax error -> ‘unexpected T_LNUMBER’…. is there a solution for this?

but no matter where I put the code:[upzslider] the slider stays on top of the post instead of in the middle.

Hi again, no worries, I’ve found a way round now thanks! One other question though, I’m also using the coda-slider on the same page and when I click on the unpoint-zero slider li’s it moves the coda-slider further up the page… do you know any way I can stop them from clashing?

Think the two slider are using the same IDs selector. Just have to edit this IDs and you’ve to modify the .js file too.

I just have a question if its possible to have post title and description to show ONLY on the main picture of the slider? (big picture)
the rest of the thumbnails on the right will show just the thumbnails and will not show post title or description.

I try to apply this plugin to a site which is in development. I have a problem with the mouseover effect. There happens to be a lag in changing the main content when the mouse goes on to another tab rapidly. You may see it here: http://www.de6ir.byethost3.com/eng/?page_id=518 .
I want to make it as responsive as Carlos has done on his page: http://www.swimbikerun.ph/ .
Carlos seems to be using the default javascript. Is the difference in the php code? How can I fix this?

OK, I’ve done it. Now I need another thing.
I use the mouseover effect on tabs. The main picture changes when the mouse comes over a tab.
What I’m looking for is to add a hyperlink that takes user to the post’s permalink when clicked on a tab. So the tabs’ mouseover effect will still be functioning and it also will be clickable with the permalink of the post.
If there’s a way to do that, please let me know.

But unfortunately changing the line 67 on slider.php didn’t work.
An example of the thing I’m after can be seen in the carousel of this page: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ .
As you may see, both the mouseover and the click function that takes the user to the link works.
This might not be an easy task but very useful so any suggestion is welcome.

I’m having a very difficult time getting the images to appear in the slideshow. I’ve use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin after setting the thumbnail size in unpointzero slider settings.
I chose the page option for the slideshow, and set images as featured images.
But the slider appears as a faint rectangle with no images.

The code is not working for a category. Filter by category not working. Something went wrong when updating the plugin. Worked fine before updating.

On UnPointZero slider configuration, under Slider style tab :
Check if Mouseover action on thumb checkbox is checked. If checked, uncheck it !
